State releases May 2024 county unemployment data

The Kentucky Center for Statistics has released the county unemployment data for May 2024. According to the report, unemployment rates rose in 109 counties between May 2023 and May 2024 and fell in six counties and remained the same in five counties. HPD investigating Berkeley Court stabbing

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating after a man was stabbed on Berkeley Court Tuesday afternoon.  According to the police report, the 40-year-old victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect around 2:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Berkeley. The victim sustained a severe laceration. No other information was immediately available, with the incident being investigated as first-degree assault.

Paving work continues on Western Ky. Parkway in Hopkins County

Motorists traveling the Western Kentucky Parkway in Hopkins County can expect Exit 38C to remain closed for a little while longer due to weather.  According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, that exit was closed on Tuesday for milling and paving operations and was scheduled to reopen this morning.
