Trigg magistrate seeking re-election, Cadiz man seeking spot on council

A Trigg County Fiscal Court magistrate has filed for re-election, while a new candidate is seeking a spot on Cadiz City Council. Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley reports that District 5 Magistrate Alana Baker Dunn, a Republican, filed paperwork to seek re-election. Meanwhile, Tim Bridges will seek a spot on Cadiz City Council in the non-partisan election. Trigg County Surveyor Randle Cruse—also a Republican—is seeking another term.

Hopkinsville man arrested on strangulation charge

A Hopkinsville man was arrested on a felony strangulation charge after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend Monday afternoon on Denzil Drive. An arrest citation for 38-year old Kelvin Charles of Hopkinsville says the victim told officers that Charles shoved her into a wall and stairs and got behind her and wrapped his arm around her neck. Hopkinsville police charged Charles with fourth-degree assault (dating violence) and second-degree strangulation.

Expensive tools stolen out of vehicle over Thanksgiving holiday period

Over $11,000 worth of tools and other property were stolen out of a vehicle at an industrial site on Pembroke Road over the Thanksgiving holiday. Drills, saws, grinders and other expensive tools were among the items stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Pembroke Road sometime between Wednesday afternoon and Monday morning, according to the report filed with Hopkinsville police. Three COVID deaths reported in Trigg County

Three more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Trigg County and there were 17 new cases there since Wednesday of last week. The fatalities were two men—69 and 76-years old—and a 72-year old woman, according to the Pennyrile District Health Department.
