Man charged in connection with January shooting incident

A Hopkinsville man already in jail for a shooting incident has been charged with firing a gun into a home on Greenville Road in January. An arrest citation for 21-year old Jaylynn Cheatham says on January 21, he fired shots from a handgun into a home at 1848 Greenville Road. No one was injured in the incident. Todd County reports 28th COVID death

Todd County recorded its 28th COVID-related death Friday and two additional cases. No details are given on the fatality, with Public Health Director Jen Harris saying their thoughts and prayers are with the family. Both new cases are healing at home, as are 14 of Todd County’s 17 active cases, with the other three in the hospital.

Elkton woman arrested on DUI, child abuse, assault of officer charges

The Todd County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Elkton woman Friday for DUI and child abuse following an investigation on Butler Road. Ky. adds 415 COVID cases, 10 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 415 new cases of COVID-19 Friday. Those 415 cases puts the overall total in the state at 457,894—there were ten new deaths reported, four of which were identified in the ongoing audit of the state reporting system.  There are currently 338 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 103 in the ICU and 64 on a ventilator. Grand jury returns indictments for sexual abuse

A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for sexual abuse Friday against two Hopkinsville men. Indicted for six counts of first-degree sexual abuse against a child under the age of 12 is 43-year old Dominique Saxton of Hopkinsville.  He allegedly admitted in a videotaped statement that he subjected a seven-year old female victim to sexual contact on approximately six separate incidents between February and April of 2021.       […]

UK’s Jackson to keep name in NBA Draft while Brooks to return next season

University of Kentucky freshman Isaiah Jackson announced today his plans to remain in the NBA Draft. In his lone season in Lexington, Jackson was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman and All-Defensive teams after averaging 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 21 minutes per contest.
