Frost advisory in effect Saturday morning, freeze watch Sunday night

A frost advisory is in effect from 1 until 9 Saturday morning and a freeze watch from late Sunday night through Monday morning in western Kentucky. Temperatures will likely fall into the mid-30’s Saturday morning and into the mid-to-upper-20’s Monday morning. Frost Saturday morning could damage or kill sensitive vegetation and a freeze Monday morning could end the growing season.

Jefferson County Public Schools announced today there will be no football games played between the dates of November 2-8. This comes as Jefferson County remains in the “red” category concerning Covid-19 rates in Kentucky. Tigers hire former Astros manager Hinch

The Detroit Tigers announced the hiring today of AJ Hinch as their new manager. Hinch has been out of baseball this season after his suspension and subsequent firing by the Houston Astros in connection with the 2017 sign stealing scandal. Hinch replaces Ron Gardenhire who retired at the end of the 2020 season.

North Kentucky Ave. murder case to be heard by grand jury

More arrests are possible in connection with the October 12 fatal shooting of Calvin “Cue” Taylor at his home on North Kentucky Avenue and police believe he was murdered during a robbery involving drugs. Forty-seven-year old Larayna Manning is charged with complicity to murder and robbery and appeared in Christian District Court for a preliminary hearing Friday morning. Woman charged with several felonies in relation to fraud

The Hopkinsville Police Department has charged a Hopkinsville woman with multiple felonies related to fraud. According to the police reported, 34-year old Tiffany Hart of Hopkinsville allegedly stole five personal checks belonging to the victim and then forged the checks by signing the victim’s name.  She then reportedly deposited the checks into her bank account and then from there withdrew or spent the money, owing the bank over $500. Turkey Trot going virtual this year

This year’s Turkey Trot, normally ran Thanksgiving morning in Hopkinsville, will go virtual to prevent spread of the coronavirus.
