An arrest warrant for burglary was served Friday afternoon against a local man. The warrant alleges that early Thursday morning, 49-year old Billy Lee Sanders of Hopkinsville went into a carport on Ridgehill Drive and rummaged through an unlocked car. He then allegedly removed sausage, beer and waffles from a refrigerator located under the carport. Sanders is charged with second-degree burglary.

Kentucky State Police and other law enforcement agencies will have extra patrols out Super Bowl Sunday looking to stop and arrest anyone driving impaired. Investigation Wednesday by the Hopkinsville-Christian County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force led to the arrest of a man for alleged methamphetamine trafficking. Two women from Hopkinsville and Princeton were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Princeton. It happened about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday when Princeton police say 85-year old Katherine Richardson of Hopkinsville was attempting to turn onto Marion Road from the Pizza Hut parking lot and struck a northbound car driven by 71-year old Paul Stewardson of Princeton.
