Man arrested on burglary warrant

An arrest warrant for burglary was served Friday afternoon against a local man. The warrant alleges that early Thursday morning, 49-year old Billy Lee Sanders of Hopkinsville went into a carport on Ridgehill Drive and rummaged through an unlocked car. He then allegedly removed sausage, beer and waffles from a refrigerator located under the carport. Sanders is charged with second-degree burglary.

Parkway upgrades, widening of US 79 remain priorities locally for road plan

The governor’s proposed six-year road plan was released by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Thursday morning, but area lawmakers already have changes they hope to make in mind. Man arrested for meth trafficking, gun charge

Investigation Wednesday by the Hopkinsville-Christian County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force led to the arrest of a man for alleged methamphetamine trafficking. A Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped 26-year old Trever Gernon for a traffic violation and a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed three ounces of meth, a handgun, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia. Two women from Hopkinsville and Princeton were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Princeton. University Heights downed Hopkinsville in 8th district action Friday night 70-51 at Tiger Gym. The Blazers used a 20-5 run in the third quarter to break open the contest.
