The city will be filled with eager runners, walkers and marathoners in September, when Hopkinsville hosts its inaugural half marathon and 5k racing event. A Christian County Grand Jury has indicted 30 people on drug trafficking charges following a six-month investigation in Christian County by the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force. A babysitter arrested last summer for abuse against an infant was convicted Monday by a jury in Christian Circuit Court. The jury found 41-year old Amanda Jo Hargis of White Plains guilty on two counts of second-degree child abuse and one count of third-degree child abuse. She was sentenced by the jury to two years in prison and lodged in the Christian County Jail after having her bond revoked. According […]

Official local historian William Turner continues to recover after suffering a mild stroke in June and he’s thankful for all of the support he’s received in the community. A Hopkinsville woman was arrested Monday afternoon for felony custodial interference. An arrest citation for 22-year old Alicea Curtis of Hopkinsville says the father of her child has full-time custody, per the order of a judge in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Curtis had visitation with the child around July 4, but refused to return the juvenile, allegedly sending a text message to the father saying he’d never see the child again. […]
