A Hopkinsville man accused of pointing a gun at a woman was charged Tuesday afternoon. An arrest citation for 31-year old Zachary Fox says the alleged victim claimed Fox stopped his vehicle in the area of Canton Street and Edmonds Street and pointed a gun at her. Fox reportedly admitted he had exchanged words with the woman, but denied pointing a gun. Fox was charged with second-degree wanton endangerment.
McLean County edged Hopkinsville 7-6 despite 20 hits from the Lady Tigers. Sebrina Hodge, Kaitlyn Kaetzel and Nadia Clayton each had three hits for Hopkinsville with Marley Hancock taking the pitching loss. Hopkinsville is now 9-17 on the season. University Heights downed Dawson Springs 27-17. The Lady Blazers are now 3-9 on the season.
Baseball: Christian County welcomes Fort Campbell in 8th district action and Hopkinsville entertains Trigg County. Softball: Third ranked Christian County hosts Henderson County.
Kentucky target R.J. Hampton is reclassifying into the class of 2019 from the class of 2020. Hampton will graduate from high school early and announced the Wildcats as one of his top four schools. Memphis, Texas Tech and Kansas are also in the running. Hampton is one of the top point guards available and is considered a five-star prospect.
Murray State is in midweek action today as the Racers play at Southern Illinois. SIU leads the all-time series 48-20. First pitch is set for 5 pm.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods series opener at Cedar Rapids was rained out last night, with the teams playing a doubleheader today beginning at 5 pm. The Nashville Sounds lost to the Omaha Storm Chasers 9-4 with game three of the series tonight at 6:35 at First Tennessee Park.
The Cincinnati Reds fell 4-3 in 10 innings to the New York Mets last night at Citi Field. The teams play again tonight with pregame at 5:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP. The Tennessee Titans are still adding to their team after the NFL Draft. The Titans claimed linebacker Riley Bullough off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yesterday. He has played 12 games over the past two seasons for the Bucs, mostly on special teams.
