KSP: Man shot his father in Hopkins County

A man was arrested in Hopkins County Friday night after he allegedly shot his father. State troopers were called to a Campbell Road residence west of Madisonville a little before 10 p.m. and determined that 22-year old Abram Skinner had been in an argument with 46-year old Alexis Skinner. A total of six people were arrested on various charges following an investigation into alleged drug activity Wednesday in Hopkins County. Kentucky downs Houston in NCAA Tournament

Tyler Herro saved the day with a late three-pointer as Kentucky outlasted Houston 62-58 at the Sweet 16 in Kansas City. Herro nailed the go-ahead three with 25 seconds left to play and iced the cake with a pair of late free throws. Herro led the Wildcats with 19 points, and P.J. Louisville women advance in NCAA Tournament

The University of Louisville women’s team advanced to the finals of the NCAA Tournament’s Albany Region with a 61-44 win over Oregon State last night. The Cardinals, now 32-3 will face U-Conn in Sunday’s final. The Huskies downed UCLA 69-61 to improve to 34-2 on the season. The teams met during the regular season with Louisville winning 78-69. Sunday’s game will tipoff at 11 am Central time.

Hannah Sumner pitched a three hit complete game shutout as third ranked Christian County downed Trigg County 10-0 in six innings last night.
