Tyler Herro saved the day with a late three-pointer as Kentucky outlasted Houston 62-58 at the Sweet 16 in Kansas City. Herro nailed the go-ahead three with 25 seconds left to play and iced the cake with a pair of late free throws. Herro led the Wildcats with 19 points, and P.J. Washington returned from injury to score 16 off the bench. Coach John Calipari says Washington was the difference maker:
Kentucky improved to 30-6 on the season and will face Auburn in the Midwest Region final game tomorrow after the Tigers routed North Carolina 97-80. UK played Auburn twice during the season, winning at Auburn 82-80 and clawing the Tigers 80-53 at Rupp Arena. Pregame coverage for the 1:20 tipoff tomorrow afternoon begins at 11:30 tomorrow morning on Lite Rock 98.7.
