Local teen injured in Clinic Drive accident

An accident on Clinic Drive Wednesday night injured one of the drivers. It happened about 8:15 p.m. and the report from Hopkinsville Police says 17-year old Jaquavia Bailey of Oak Grove thought a northbound SUV driven by 18-year old Jerome Smith of Hopkinsville was turning left into Walmart and she drove into his path. Equipment stolen from job site

Hopkinsville Police are investigating the theft of equipment from a job site on North Campbell Street. Someone stole two chainsaws, two impact guns and several other tools with a combined value of about $2,400 in the last couple weeks. The equipment had been inside locked bins, according to the police report. The equipment belongs to 5 Star Electric of Clay, Kentucky.

Woman flown to Evansville hospital after SUV strikes CSX truck at 10th St. crossing

Additional details have been released on an accident that happened Thursday morning at the East 10th Street railroad crossing in Hopkinsville. The collision report from city police says 33-year old Brittany Jones of Hopkinsville had been eastbound on 10th and failed to yield the right of way to a CSX truck traveling on the tracks. Pendleton County senior and UK signee Allen to miss rest of season

One of the top candidates for Kentucky Mr. Basketball is done for the season. Pendleton County senior and UK signee Dontaie Allen announced Wednesday he will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL. Allen suffered the injury in a game at Pendleton County December 22nd. It was first thought to be a sprained knee. Allen was averaging 42.9 points and 14.2 rebounds per game before the injury.

Uk’s Herro wins weekly national honor

Kentucky freshman Tyler Herro received a national honor Wednesday. Herro was named the US Basketball Writers of America Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week. Herro had a career high 24 points in Kentucky’s win over Louisville last Saturday. HPD investigates burglary at local restaurant

Someone broke into AJ’s Kitchen on North Drive this week and stole the cash register. The perpetrator broke the glass front door to get inside sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and took the register and $150 cash. No suspects are named on the Hopkinsville Police Department report.
