Additional details have been released on an accident that happened Thursday morning at the East 10th Street railroad crossing in Hopkinsville.
The collision report from city police says 33-year old Brittany Jones of Hopkinsville had been eastbound on 10th and failed to yield the right of way to a CSX truck traveling on the tracks. Her SUV struck the driver’s side of the northbound truck operated by 60-year old Tony Powell of Hopkinsville.
Police say Johnson was flown by Air Evac to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for head trauma, but she was able to speak with first responders on scene and her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Powell was not injured in the incident.
