Christian County-UHA to play second game in 8th district series

The second game of the 8th district baseball series between Christian County and University Heights will be played this week. WHOP Sports received word the game will be played at Christian County High School Friday afternoon at 5:30. Hoptown’s Cager makes college commitment

The Kentucky New Era reports Hopkinsville High’s Steven “Shorty” Cager has committed to play collegiately at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, IA. The Blackhawks were 22-9 last season and are members of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

Griffin to retire with Titans today

Former Tennessee Titans safety Michael Griffin is signing a one-day contract with the team and will officially retire today. Griffin was the Titans' first-round pick in 2007 and he made two Pro Bowls for them over nine seasons. Griffin last played in 2016 for Carolina.

Molina out following groin surgery

The St. Louis Cardinals will be without All-Star catcher Yadier Molina for a month after he underwent groin surgery on Sunday. Molina was hit in the groin by a foul tip on Saturday as the Chicago Cubs Kris Bryant tipped a Jordan Hicks fastball that struck Molina right in the groin during the eighth inning.
