A teenager drowned on Kentucky Lake Sunday in Marshall County.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife says witnesses called for help a little before 8:30 a.m. after seeing a young male wade into the water near the old beach area of Kentucky Dam Village State Park and not resurface.
The victim was alone at the time, according to those witnesses.
The Marshall County Rescue Squad conducted a quick sonar search of the area and recovered the body of the 17-year old Paducah boy and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s office.
An autopsy was scheduled at the Western Kentucky Regional Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville and the boy’s name has not been released.
