A single-vehicle wreck near the 4-mile marker of the Pennyrile Parkway resulted in injuries on Monday. Firefighters from the Hopkinsville Fire Department extinguished a residence fire on Ashbury Circle Monday afternoon. At the scene, firefighters reportedly found smoke coming from the home. Once inside, they located the fire in one of the bedrooms and stopped it from spreading further. An adult female resident was reportedly transported to Jennie Stuart Medical for minor burns. The Hopkinsville Fire Department announced two promotions following the recent retirement of Captain Curtis Nightingale. Nightingale retired on December 29 after serving 22 years with the department. To fill Nightingale’s shoes, Lieutenant Kyle Graves was promoted to the rank of captain and will serve on Battalion 1. Graves has been a part of the department since 2014.
