Lady Colonels advance to regional semifinals
The Christian County Lady Colonels advanced to the Girls’ Region 2 Basketball Tournament semifinals with a 70-51 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins Tuesday night at Lyle Dunbar Gym. Colonel bowlers compete at KHSAA State Tournament
Christian County High School’s bowling team of Kane DeGuilio and Christian Lane qualified sixth after two games of baker qualifying in the Unified Division of the KHSAA State Bowling Tournament on Tuesday in Jeffersontown. Pennyrile region receives funding for road, recreational projects
The Pennyrile Area Development District (PeADD) Board of Directors received a positive report regarding recent grant applications for road and recreational projects at their Monday meeting. Alex Caudill from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office says Beshear recently announced 23 grants for bridge repair and replacement projects. The Colonels and Mustangs were playing for the district championship on Friday night at The Stadium of Champions. Tigers to travel to Fairdale for football scrimmage
The Hopkinsville High School football team returns to the field Thursday night for their second and final scrimmage of the season. The Tigers will travel to Louisville to face Fairdale. The scrimmage is expected to kick off at 5 p.m. local time. Hoptown opens the regular season Aug. 23 in Bowling Green against Greenwood.
Team Moore captures Junior golf crown
Hopkinsville junior golfer Oliver Moore teamed up with his father, Mitchell, to win the Kentucky Junior Golf Adult-Child Tournament over the weekend at the Bardstown Country Club. Winners were crowned in the 2024 Hopkinsville Country Country Club Junior golf Club championships last weekend.
