An autopsy has determined the man found dead in the Gilbertsville area of Marshall County Saturday night died from a dog attack.
As previously reported, Kentucky State Police were contacted about 8 p.m. Saturday after the body of 46-year old Brian Butler of Benton was found near a roadway in the Gilbertsville community.
The autopsy at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville determined the cause of death to be sharp force trauma from a dog attack. Two pit bull dogs were located in the area of Butler’s body Saturday and they were quarantined by Marshall County Animal Control.
KSP is urging residents of the Gilbertsville community to be on the lookout for any loose dogs, as it’s possible additional dogs could have been involved in Butler’s death.
