Baby’s finger severed in accident near Pembroke

An 18-month old girl was flown to a Nashville hospital Friday morning after her fingers were severely cut in an accident near Pembroke.

An ambulance and the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department were called to the 2900 block of Rosetown Road at about 9:45 a.m., with emergency personnel saying one of the girl’s finger’s was severed and another was severely cut when she got her hand caught in a washing machine belt.

EMS personnel treated the baby at the scene and she was then flown by Life Flight to Vanderbilt Pediatrics Hospital in Nashville, according to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Michael Pendleton.
