A few local prospects were selected in the 2018 NBA Draft. Kentucky forward Kevin Knox was taken ninth overall by the New York Knicks, while point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was drafted two spots later by the Charlotte Hornets, then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kentucky’s Jarred Vanderbilt was selected by Orlando in the second round and traded to Denver. Hamidou Diallo was selected by Brooklyn, then traded to Charlotte and later to Oklahoma City also in the second round. Louisville big man Ray Spalding was also selected in the second round by Philadelphia, then traded to Dallas.
