Hopkinsville Police arrested a man early Monday morning accused of forcing his way into a room at the Little River Motel and assaulting a woman inside.
Charged with first-degree burglary is 32-year old Michael Mabern, with an arrest citation saying he struck the victim on her face and arms, leaving visible injuries.
Officers spent several hours attempting to locate Mabern and arrested him in a liquor store parking lot about 1 a.m. Monday.
The victim dropped her cell phone as she fled the room to get away from Mabern and police say the phone was located in his pocket upon his arrest.
