University Heights Academy needed overtime, but put the brakes on a two-game losing streak by defeating visiting Owensboro Christian 76-71 Monday night.
Elijah Walton returned from an injury that had kept him out of the lineup since Jan. 9 and scored 34 points including two free throws in overtime to help seal the win.
Tylin George scored 30 points for the Blazers, who improved to 5-11 on the season.
The Knights, who are a team made up of home-schooled players, led 43-36 at halftime, but the Blazers battled back to tie the game at 66 at the end of regulation.
Walton, Jaiden Miles, and George all hit free throws down the stretch as UHA outscored the Knights 10-5 in the extra period to pick up the win.
The Blazers will play host to Fort Campbell tonight in a District 8 game at 7:30 p.m. Airtime for the F&M Bank Pregame show is 7:15 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
