Details released on crash that closed I-24 Wednesday morning

Details have been released on the tractor-trailer accident Wednesday morning on I-24 that caused major traffic issues for several hours.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department report from Deputy Eric Pacheco says Joshua McClain of North Liberty, Indiana was eastbound near the 79 mile-marker when he lost control of his tractor-trailer as he attempted to go around a vehicle stopped on the shoulder.

The tractor-trailer skidded into the median and overturned after colliding with the cable median barrier.

McClain was hauling over 100 pigs and many escaped from the trailer, with another eastbound car hitting one of the pigs about 500 yards away.

McClain sustained multiple non-life-threatening facial injuries and was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
