It took 11 innings, but the Cincinnati Reds fell in last night’s opener to the New York Mets 15-11 to lose their fourth straight game. Tyler Naquin went five-for-six with four runs batted in. Cincinnati is scheduled to send left-hander Wade Miley to the mound for the second game of the series this evening.

Elsewhere in the National League

Dylan Carlson homered and drove in four as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs 8-3 in St. Louis. Paul Goldschmidt also homered and drove in a pair as St. Louis has won three-straight. Patrick Wisdom had three hits, including a homer, for Chicago which has lost two-straight. The series continues tonight.

The Atlanta Braves series opener against the San Diego Padres was postponed yesterday due to inclement weather. The teams will make up the game on Wednesday, playing a doubleheader. The series begins this evening at Truist Park.

New York Mets manager Luis Rojas is serving a suspension for two games for his “excessive” argument with the umpires during Sunday’s come-from-behind win against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. He served the first game of the suspension last night and will serve the second game tonight in Cincinnati.
