Nolan Arenado homered in his fourth consecutive game to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in St. Louis. Arenado’s first inning two-run shot marked his 30th RBI this season. The series continues this evening.

David Bote and Ian Happ each homered as the Chicago Cubs take a 6-3 victory over the Washington Nationals in Chicago. Anthony Rizzo left the game with a tightness in his lower back, but the Cubs were able to hold on for the win. Game three of the series is this evening.

Tomas Nido homered in the ninth inning to lift the New York Mets past the Atlanta Braves 4-3. The Mets go for the three game sweep tonight at Truist Park.

Detroit Tigers pitcher Spencer Turnbull has thrown a no hitter against the Seattle Mariners in Detroit’s 5-0 win last night in Seattle. It is the fifth no hitter of the season and the second time Seattle has been no hit. The right hander finished with nine strikeouts and two walks to throw his first career no-no.

Mike Trout was placed on the 10-day I-L with a strained right calf, but is expected to miss anywhere from six-to-eight weeks for the Los Angeles Angels. He was injured while rounding the bases on a pop up during Monday night’s 7-4 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday. The three-time M-V-P is hitting .333 this season with an American League best .624 slugging percentage through Monday.
