The WHOP’er of an Egg Hunt came back in full form Saturday morning, as hundreds of children snatched up around 20,000 eggs within minutes.

It was a picture perfect spring day when families took to the fields at Tie Breaker Park, and Pam Rudd with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation says while it might have been a smaller turnout compared to years past, it was still a sizable crowd that attended.

She says it felt good to be getting something back to normal, and she’s hopeful it’s a sign that things will continue to take place for people to enjoy this year.

Three-year old Khloe DeBord of Elkton was the winner of the $98.70 grand prize egg—her mother says she took part in the WHOP’er of an Egg Hunt when she was a kid and she was excited to now be able to bring her own children to participate.

The egg hunt is made possible through a partnership between the WHOP Family of Stations, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, Junior Auxiliary and many more community partners.
