A Russellville man was arrested on a warrant Sunday morning after he allegedly barricaded himself in a home following a foot pursuit.
Deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make contact with 30-year old Rodney Young of Russellville in the area of East Sixth Street in Russellville and Young allegedly took off on foot and entered an apartment on East Third Street.
A family with young children was inside the apartment and police say Young ran out the back door when deputies made forced entry.
Young continued to resist arrest, according to a news release, which says he was eventually taken to jail and charged with three counts of third-degree assault of a police officer, fleering or evading police, criminal mischief, second-degree burglary and resisting arrest.
Two deputies sustained broken bones in their hands as a result of the struggle to arrest Young.
