Hopkinsville City Council Members had quite a short agenda for Tuesday’s meeting where they received a presentation of July’s financial report.
July kicked off the fiscal year, and City Chief Financial Officer Melissa Clayton says expenses currently outweigh revenue. However, she says the city’s revenue will increase when property taxes are collected in October.
Public school students in Christian County are returning to class on Wednesday and Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight reminded motorists to be aware of school buses and students that are walking to bus stops.
To conclude the meeting, council members went into closed session where no action was taken.
