Fort Campbell EOD technicians recover, dispose of blasting cap found at Clarksville Goodwill

A possible explosive device shut down the Goodwill on Needmore Road on Saturday, and that suspicious item was collected by Explosive Ordinance Disposal technicians from Fort Campbell.

According to a news release, the call came out on Saturday morning after what was believed to be an explosive device was found inside of a green bag that had been in the donations to Goodwill. The Fort Campbell technicians responded to the scene and safely secured and removed a blasting cap, which is an initiating device for explosives, from the scene.

The blasting cap was transported to Fort Campbell, where it was safely disposed of, ensuring the scene was safe for patrons and store employees.  There were no other explosive materials or items found at the scene. 

No one was injured in the incident.
