Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation are inviting people back to the Downtown Entertainment District for the second annual Block Party this coming Saturday.

It’s all set to take place within the downtown Hopkinsville area from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Program Coordinator Jacob Gibson says there will be live music, a car show, a party in the Hopkinsville Municipal Center parking lot, and a bike night in memory of Brandon Oldham.

Gibson says live music will be taking place across the city, including at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company, Camo Caravan, the Mixer and the Crusty Pig.

He says it’s all about getting people downtown, having a good time and enjoying all the local businesses that call downtown home. Anyone can join in the car show and show off their ride, with a first place trophy up for grabs.

Lee Sims, the running up from this year’s Hoptown Idol, will be performing at Founders Square from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The Block Party will call for several streets to be closed, with Gibson saying there will be plenty of family fun activities.
