Madisonville man charged with rape

A Madisonville man is facing a charge of rape following investigation into a reported sexual assault on Wednesday. 

According to the report from the Madisonville Police Department, officers responded to Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday after a woman went to the hospital and reported that she had been sexually assaulted.

She reported that what began as consensual kissing between her and 31-year-old Kyle Tirey of Madisonville became violent after she told him to stop, withdrawing her consent.

He allegedly held her down and put his hands around her throat, restricting her breathing, and that’s when he reportedly raped her. He allegedly drug her upstairs by the arm, and assaulted her again. 

The victim was able to leave the residence after he fell asleep, and she sought treatment. Officers were able to observe visible bruising on the victim. 

Tirey declined a formal interview with police. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree strangulation.
