Summer break is ending for Heritage Christian Academy students as they kicked off their first day of school Tuesday, and other area schools aren’t far behind.
Heritage Christian welcomed back students Tuesday morning bright and early, which means motorists undoubtedly noticed the uptick in school traffic on the Eagle Way Bypass near the Hopkinsville YMCA. Folks are reminded that the school zone speed limit will be in effect once again, so remember to slow it down and watch for students.
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Schools are welcoming back students on Wednesday, and parents are reminded that preschool classes have relocated to the Primary Center and kindergarten through fifth grade classes relocated to the school’s second floor.
Parents and guardians dropping off preschool students are instructed to enter the church parking lot from 9th Street, turn right to go under the church’s canopy and drop their children off at the door of the preschool building. Then, parents and guardians dropping off students in kindergarten through fifth grade are instructed to enter the school parking lot from 7th Street, then turn left and drop their children off near the gate.
Trigg County Public Schools is right behind them, with students starting their first day of school there on Wednesday, August 12.
Trigg Superintendent Rex Booth says they’re excited to embark on a new school year, saying he and his staff remain committed to shaping an environment where academic rigor meets real-world preparation.
With Todd County Schools already in session, all the remains in Christian County Public Schools—set to start on August 19—and University Heights Academy, whose first day of school is set for August 20.
