Man shot on West 16th Street in Hopkinsville, investigation underway

An investigation is underway after a person was shot on West 16^th Street in Hopkinsville early Monday morning.

It happened near the intersection of West 16^th and Phelps Avenue around 3 a.m. when Hopkinsville Fire and EMS was called to the scene for reports of a person who had been shot. Captain Payton Rogers tells WHOP news that they arrived to find the patient with Hopkinsville police, who had applied tourniquets to his wounds.

The male victim in his 20’s had reportedly sustained gunshot wounds to both arms.

He was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of injuries, where he was believed to be serious, but stable, condition.
