Police arrest Hopkinsville man for endangerment, assault

Hopkinsville Police arrested 35-year-old Jermaine Ogburn of Hopkinsville following an assault incident on Thursday.  

An officer responded to a residence on Jessup Avenue for a domestic dispute between Ogburn and a woman. At the scene, contact was made with the victim, who allegedly told the officer that Ogburn had hit her.

When the officer contacted Ogburn he reportedly began yelling and did not follow commands. Another officer responded to the scene to help detain Ogburn. As Ogburn was being taken into custody he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and began to resist and yell racial slurs.

Ogburn was charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and menacing.
