Hoptown’s Chiani Leak earns All-Region 2 Tennis

Hopkinsville High School senior Chiani Leak will be the answer to a future trivia question.

The Lady Tigers’ No. 1 tennis player this season was selected to the All-Region Team following Monday night’s Region 2 Tennis Team Tournament championships at Ruff Park. She will be the school’s last All-Region tennis player, as Hopkinsville High School just completed its last season before consolidation with Christian County.

Leak joined Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Addyson Raymer and Kiley DeMoss, Hopkins Central’s Lilly Armour, Henderson County’s Irah Plummer, and Caldwell County’s Trey Freeman and MeleahGreenfield on the team.

DeMoss, who won the Region 2 Girls’ Tennis Tournament title last week, was named the Girls’ Region 2 Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, the boys’ All-Region Team included Henderson County’s Caden Jenkins and Carson Troxel, Madisonville’s Nick Burns, Noah Mays, and Ethan Larkins, Caldwell County’s Noah Bailey, and Hopkins Central’s Cohl Hoard.

Larkins was named the Boys’ Region 2 Player of the Year.
