UHA cheer squad qualifies for State competition

University Heights Academy’s cheer squad advanced to the state cheer competition after finishing third place in the game day small division at the Region 1 Competition Saturday in Paducah.

Henderson County won with 84.05 points, followed by Calloway County with 75 and the Lady Blazers with 72.30.

Hopkinsville finished fourth with 70.10 and Christian County was 11^th with 51.5.

It is the first time since 2012 that the Lady Blazers have competed in the Region 1 Competition.

The State Cheer is Dec. 12-13 at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester.
