City of Hopkinsville receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City of Hopkinsville has been awarded at Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year that ended in June of 2024.

According to a news release, that certificate is awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, and the financial report is judged by an impartial panel.  The Certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and it represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. 

Mayor J.R. Knight says, “This recognition reflects the dedication, integrity, and professionalism of our city’s finance team. Hopkinsville taxpayers can have full confidence that their city’s finances are being managed transparently and responsibly. We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to accountability and excellence in public service.”
