Hopkinsville Police arrested 55-year-old Henry Burton of Hopkinsville after he was reportedly driving a stolen vehicles and fled from law enforcement on Thursday.
Officers responded to an address on East 4th Street for reports of a vehicle theft. The victim shared that Burton took their vehicle although he was told not to. Burton was later located on Cates Street and officers reportedly attempted to perform a traffic stop.
Burton reportedly pulled the car into the driveway of an abandoned home before stopping and fleeing away on foot. Burton was apprehended before entering the residence, and officers reportedly found a smoking pipe with suspected cocaine on his person.
Burton was charged with theft by unlawful taking of an automobile, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
