Madisonville Police arrest woman following stabbing incident

Madisonville Police arrested Ashley Poindexter after she reportedly stabbed a victim with a knife on Saturday.

According to a report, police responded to a residence on West Lake Street for reports of a stabbing. Officers reportedly found that Poindexter stabbed the victim in the arm with a butcher knife while the pair were arguing.

Police reportedly found the knife hidden in a grill in the backyard. The victim received medical attention at the scene from first responders, but refused further treatment. Emergency medical personnel at the scene believed the victim needed several stitches.

Poindexter was charged with second-degree assault domestic violence.
