Woman charged with burglary, assault

A Hopkinsville woman has been charged with burglary and assault after she allegedly went into the victim’s home multiple times on December 23. 

According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, 18-year-old Samantha Barnes of Hopkinsville allegedly unlawfully entered the residence of the victim without permission and when she was asked to leave, she would leave and then return two more times. 

During one instance, Barnes allegedly made physical contact with the victim’s face and nose—the victim reported and swelling and bleeding to the face and nose. 

Barnes was later located and charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.
