City of Madisonville beautification project to result in lane restrictions this week

Motorists traveling in Madisonville this week should be aware of lane restrictions for a beautification project.

According to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the City of Madisonville will work to convert existing concrete traffic islands into plantable flower beds, so motorists should expect lane restrictions starting Monday morning at the intersection of U.S. 41, Nebo Road and Island Ford Road. 

Those closures will last until Thursday morning, so keep an eye out for lane restrictions during working hours, including a potential reduction of two-lane roadways down to single lanes to accommodate equipment.
