Section 1 golf tournaments set for HGCC this week
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Golf Tournaments will begin with the Section 1 tournaments Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club. The girls’ tournament begins on Tuesday at 8 a.m. with several local players participating. Man charged with arson in Madisonville Dollar General fire
A Clay, Kentucky man is in jail after he allegedly tried to set fire to a Dollar General store in Madisonville last week. According to the Madisonville Police Department report, officers responded to the Dollar General on Hanson Road for reports of a fire inside the store. Four injured, one severely in Country Club Lane crash
Four people were injured in a crash on Country Club Lane Saturday Night. According to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS, the crash happened around 8 p.m. in the area of Country Club and Sherwood Drive and involved multiple vehicles. Four individuals were hurt—three were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Pennyrile Electric is heading out to assist our neighbors in Tennessee, as Hurricane Helene crashed inland, bringing with it historic flooding and stormy weather. According to a news release, two Pennyrile Electric crews that include nine line technicians, are heading to east Tennessee to help out Holston Electric Cooperative.
