It’s going to be hot and humid this week, with a chance of severe storms to start the work week and then daily chances of pop-up storms and showers to follow.
Meteorologist Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says the set-up for stormy weather Monday night into Tuesday is a tricky one—due to a lot of factors, they’re not entirely sure where or when storms might set up. If one does develop though, it would bring with it the risk for torrential rain, damaging winds and a small chance of a tornado.
Wherever it doesn’t rain, expect it to be scorching hot, with Gibbs saying we could easily reach temperatures of 105 degrees and up.
He calls the whole weather system set up for this week ‘messy’, so just stay weather aware as you go about your work week.
The 8-to-14 day outlook is showing more of the same—above average temperatures and an above average chance for precipitation.
