A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started traffic paint striping along Interstate 24, which means motorists should be on the lookout for equipment and personnel in the roadway.
According to a news release, on Thursday morning a paint truck and support caravan worked along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 from the Ohio River Bridge through McCracken County to the Trigg-Christian County line near the 70-mile marker.
Over the next several days there will be multiple traffic paint crews working along the main line of I-24 in Trigg, Caldwell, Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties. Motorists should be alert for paint trucks with multiple support vehicles and a police escort. The paint crews expect to be on the road during daylight hours whenever weather allows.
While the paint crews use fast-drying paint, motorists are reminded to avoid driving through fresh paint.
