Police arrest man for endangerment, driving under the influence

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Corey Middleton of Clarksville for wanton endangerment after he was pulled over for driving under the influence on Saturday.

According to a report from police, the responding officer witnessed a vehicle driving north on South Virginia Street that was having a hard time remaining in its own lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop making contact with Middleton and reported that he was slurring his speech, repeating himself and his eyes were glassy and red.

When asked, Middleton reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana earlier that evening. A search of Middleton’s vehicle allegedly revealed a bag of marijuana and minor who was in the backseat.

Officers also found that Middleton was operating the vehicle on a license that had been indefinitely suspended.

Middleton was charged with his third offense of operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of marijuana, first-degree wanton endangerment and driving on a DUI suspended license.
