Run for the Fallen to make its way through Hopkinsville Sunday

Motorists are advised to stay alert on Sunday, as participants in the Run for the Fallen memorial run go through Hopkinsville.

Run for the Fallen is an organization that pays tribute to those who sacrificed their life in service since the year 2000. Participants run a mile for each solder who gave their life.

Runners and event personnel traveled from Owensboro to Greenville on Saturday and they’ll make the trek from Greenville to Hopkinsville on Sunday, with the Hopkinsville Police Department to escort them on their run in the city. Police Chief Jason Newby is taking part in the memorial run.

The runners will be coming south on US Highway 41 from Eagle Way Bypass and will continue southbound onto South Virginia Street, cross over Eagle Way Bypass to Lafayette Road, head eastbound on Lovers Lane to then go southbound on Fort Campbell Blvd to finish at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Motorists are urged to stay alert for runners while traveling in those areas and expect delays.
