Starting Tuesday, the Hopkinsville Public Works Department will close the West Second Street bridge for repairs.
According to a news release, the bridge is over the North Fork of Little River. It will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians for a surface rehabilitation project for approximately 30 days, weather permitting. The purpose of the project is to restore the bridge surface and remove problem expansion joints.
The westside area will remain accessible from West Seventh Street for residents and emergency services. Motorists are advised to use caution where equipment and personnel are working in or near the roadway.
