Indictments returned for murder, first-degree robbery

A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments Friday, including against a Hopkinsville man for murder.

Indicted for murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is 65-year old Earl Guillemet of Hopkinsville.  He is accused of fatally shooting 59-year-old Dolores Hernandez on May 3 in the 300 block of East 18th Street. Witnesses and security camera footage from the area identified a silver Chevy truck as leaving the scene after the shooting and a Black male with gray facial hair was seen walking towards the victim’s residence just moments before the shots fired call.

Police would also eventually recover the gun Guillemet allegedly used to kill Hernandez and he was arrested on charges of murder, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Indicted for first-degree robbery is 22-year-old Jacob Williams of Hopkinsville, who was also indicted for first-degree promoting contraband. The 19-year old male victim told Hopkinsville police that Williams pulled a gun on him and took his phone and money in the 200 block of Dogwood in March.

Williams gave officers consent to search his home and while the case that had been on the victim’s phone was located, the phone and cash were not found.

An arrest citation says several BB guns were also found in the home, but not a gun that the victim could identify as the one used in the robbery.
