Man sentenced to life in prison for 2018 murder of Fort Campbell soldier

A Clarksville man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 10-years, after he was found guilty in the murder of his estranged wife on Fort Campbell in 2018.

According to a news release, 33-year-old Victor Silvers was sentenced to life in prison, plus an additional 10 years, for first-degree murder, attempted murder, domestic violence resulting in death, violation of a protective order resulting in death, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of discharging a firearm during commission of a crime of violence. There is no parole in the federal system.

As previously reported, Silvers drove from his Clarksville, Tennessee, residence to the Fort Campbell post on October 14, 2018. Silvers then shot his estranged wife, Brittney Silvers, three times, killing her. Silvers also shot another man, James Keating. Five days before the murder, Brittney Silvers had been granted a Domestic Violence Order of Protection that prohibited Silvers from being within 300 feet of her or committing violent acts against her.

Brittney Silvers was a U.S. Army Soldier assigned to Fort Campbell at the time.
