>>Titans Training Camp Focuses On Treylon Burks

(Nashville, TN)  —  Titans training camp is officially underway.  Day one of full team practice began yesterday and Treylon Burks was one of the biggest standouts.  The receiver participated in all training drills and made several nice catches in 7-on-7 drills.  The rookie’s conditioning was a major question heading into training camp and he took accountability for not being prepared.  Reporters say Burks has slimmed down noticeably and Coach Vrabel says the rookie is off to a good start.

(Nashville, TN)  —  More stories continue to pour out of Titans training camp.  Full team practice was held yesterday at Saint Thomas Sports Park for the official start of camp.  Receiver Robert Woods and cornerback Caleb Farley were full participants after recovering from knee issues.  Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons practiced and said he lost five pounds over the off-season.  Meanwhile, Ryan Tannehill looked sharp in 7-on-7 drills making deep connections with several receivers including Treylon Burks.

>>Multiple Teams Hold First Training Camp Practice

(Undated)  —  A number of teams around the NFL hit the field for their first training camp practice on Wednesday.  New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas returned to the field for the first time in 18 months.  Thomas has been recovering from multiple ankle surgeries after missing all of last season.  The San Francisco 49ers opened camp without one of their star playmakers.  Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel was in attendance but did not participate in the team’s first practice.  Samuel is “holding in” in hopes of negotiating a contract extension.  In Kansas City, tight end Travis Kelce and the Chiefs have agreed to a contract adjustment.

>>K.J. Wright Retires A Seahawk

(Renton, WA)  —  K.J. Wright is hanging up his cleats as a member of the Seahawks.  Seattle signed the veteran linebacker to a ceremonial one-day contract so that he could retire with the team he began his NFL career with.  Wright spent the first 10 years of his career with the Seahawks before playing for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021.  The 33-year-old was a key piece to the Legion of Boom defense that help Seattle win Super Bowl 48.

>>49ers Release Pass Rusher Dee Ford

(Santa Clara, CA) — The San Francisco 49ers are releasing pass rushing specialist Dee Ford.  Ford was limited to 18 games over parts of three seasons after he was acquired in a trade with Kansas City in 2019.  Ford was a key contributor to San Francisco’s run to Super Bowl 54.  He could not stay on the field with back issues over the last two seasons, and only played in seven games.  Reports say the roster move will save the team more than one-million-dollars against the salary cap.

>>4 HOF Finalists Will Be Advanced In August

(Canton, OH)  —  Four names are going to be added to the list of finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023 next month.  Two committees are meeting to select finalists in the Seniors Category and Coach-and-Contributor Category.  The Seniors Committee will pick three from a list of 12 finalists, including Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson, Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley, Jets defensive lineman Joe Klecko, and Packers wide receiver Sterling Sharpe.  The Coach/Contributor Committee will select one from its final 12, including former head coaches Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan, and Dan Reeves.  The four will be considered for enshrinement in January.  This year’s Class of 2022 will be enshrined on August 6th.
