Arrest made in East 18th Street shooting

An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident from early Wednesday morning at a home on East 18th Street. Hopkinsville police have charged 29-year old Taraneisha Quarles of Hopkinsville with first-degree assault. Attorneys going over evidence in Princess Theater fatal shooting case

Proceedings were continued to August for murder suspect Deovion Day in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday, to allow more time for attorneys to go over all the evidence in the case. East 18th Street shooter sentenced to 10 years in prison

Probation was denied Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court for Demario White, who injured two people in a shooting incident the day before Thanksgiving last year on East 18th Street. White entered an Alford plea in May to two-counts of assault under extreme emotional disturbance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence. A man was arrested following a vehicle and foot pursuit late Tuesday night. A Hopkinsville police officer attempted to stop a 2011 Honda Civic at Woodmill Road and East Ninth Street  and the report says after initially stopping, the driver sped off again and soon wrecked out at Poplar Street and King Drive. HPD investigating early morning shooting incident

Hopkinsville police are investigating after a man arrived at Jennie Stuart Medical Center early Wednesday morning with gunshot wounds. Investigation led officers to a home in the 1400 block of East 18th Street, where a woman had called police to report an altercation. The man who was shot was later transferred to a hospital in Nashville and his name has not been released.
