Kentucky passed another grim COVID-19 milestone Monday, as the state surpassed 16,000 deaths.
According to the weekly update, there were 59 newly reported deaths in the last week, bringing the death toll up to 16,004 since the pandemic began. There were 9,761 cases in the last week, and the positivity rate increased up to 12.42 percent.
There are 299 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 34 in the ICU and 17 on a ventilator.
